JSS College of Physiotherapy is excited to introduce a specialized continuing education program in physiotherapy through online learning. Designed to address the complexities of managing musculoskeletal pain, the STOPS (Specific Treatment of Problems of the Spine) online learning program originates from clinical trials developed in Australia. It equips physiotherapists with expertise and strategies to effectively address persistent low back pain issues.

The key focus of the STOPS program is on identifying and providing targeted treatments that address barriers to recovery, whether they are pathoanatomical, impairment-related, psychosocial, or neurophysiological in nature.

Program Overview: The online offering includes 5 comprehensive courses focusing on the specific management of low back pain:

  • Standard assessment of low back disorders
  • Advanced assessment of low back disorders
  • Lumbar treatment with manual therapy
  • Lumbar treatment with directional preference management
  • Functional restoration for individuals with pathoanatomy as the primary barrier to recovery
  • Functional restoration for individuals with non-physical barriers to recovery (psychosocial and neurophysiological)

Course Details:

  • Courses are self-paced, interactive, and entirely online.
  • Each course requires between 2 to 8 hours to complete.
  • Successful completion of each course, including an assessment, earns participants a certificate of completion from the STOPS online learning program, endorsed by Dr. Jon Ford, PhD, course developer and researcher at La Trobe University, Australia.
