Student Leadership

Student Leadership

The Student Council is a representative body elected by students, enabling them to actively participate in the College's affairs. Working in partnership with college leadership, staff, and teachers, the Council benefits both the College and its students. At JSSCPT, the Student Council plays an integral role within the student community, acting as a liaison between the college and students. The Council holds special meetings at the beginning of each session with the Principal and all other staff to plan for that session. Monthly meetings and additional meetings, if necessary, are also conducted.

The Student Council comprises several subcommittees, including the Cultural Committee, Sports Committee, and Academic Committee. These committees collaborate to enhance the college's co-curricular programs and integrate activities with education. The Council has representatives in all major college committees, such as the Library Committee, Curriculum Review Committee, Grievance Committee, Anti-Ragging Committee, and Swachh Campus Committee.

The Student Council is a student-centered organization that values participatory decision-making. Members serve as liaisons between the students and faculty to improve student amenities. Significant outcomes include the establishment of a boys' common room, a water dispenser in the library, a meditation room, and continuous improvements in sports and recreational facilities. As the hub of college community life, the Council complements the academic experience through a wide range of cultural, educational, recreational, social activities, and sports programs. These initiatives provide students with opportunities to balance coursework and leisure as cooperative elements in their education.
